A Prosperous East Kingstown

Imagine a united East Kingstown, where every community member thrives, opportunities abound, and our shared future is bright. This is the East Kingstown we are working toward—a place of safety, growth, and pride, built on the foundation of collaboration and innovation.

Building a community of Safety, growth and Pride.

Our Vision for a Thriving
East Kingstown

Our plan strengthens communities by revitalizing local organizations, empowering youth, and fostering entrepreneurship through a Skills Training Center and Entrepreneurship Hub in collaboration with the NDP. This is more than a plan—it’s our commitment to a thriving East Kingstown where every person has the chance to succeed. Let’s build this future together!

Building a Sports and Arts Complex

Sports and the arts have the power to change lives, but only if we invest in them. We will construct a state-of-the-art complex where young athletes and artists can train, perform, and compete. This facility will create jobs, bring in tourism, and give our youth a space to develop their talents. From hosting regional sports competitions to featuring world-class performances, this complex will put East Kingstown on the map as a leader in cultural and athletic excellence. A community that nurtures talent is a community that thrives.

Launching a skills training center and entrepreneurship incubator

A good-paying job shouldn’t feel out of reach for anyone willing to work for it. But too many people in our community struggle to find the right opportunities. That’s why we’re establishing a skills training center in partnership with the Technical College—so that residents can gain hands-on experience in high-demand fields of the future like esthetics, cosmetology, renewable energy, and digital trades. This isn’t just about education; it’s about empowerment. A skilled workforce attracts businesses, strengthens our local economy, and gives our people a fighting chance in today’s job market. No one should have to leave East Kingstown to find success—we’ll make sure opportunities are right here at home.

But we won’t stop there. In conjunction with the New Democratic Party, we will also establish an Entrepreneurship Hub to provide support, mentorship, and resources for local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. This hub will offer business development workshops, access to small business grants and loans, and networking opportunities to help residents turn their ideas into thriving businesses. Whether you want to start a salon, launch a tech business, or create a new product, we will give you the tools and guidance to succeed. A stronger small business sector means more jobs, economic independence, and a future where our people can build and sustain their own success—right here in East Kingstown.

Developing Sion Hill Bay into an Entertainment Hub

Sion Hill Bay has the potential to be a vibrant center for entertainment, tourism, and local business, but right now, that potential is being wasted. We will turn Sion Hill Bay into a hub filled with restaurants, shops, and water-based attractions—bringing in jobs, attracting visitors, and creating a space for residents to enjoy. This is a long-term vision, but one that will transform our local economy by creating opportunities for hospitality, event management, and cultural experiences. A thriving entertainment district means a thriving East Kingstown.

Revitalizing Heritage and Sustainability

Our history and resources should be a source of pride and prosperity, not just memories of what once was. We will reestablish the AgroLab in Frenches to support local food processing, agri-business research, and backyard gardening—creating jobs and promoting sustainability.

At the same time, we’ll transform the Old Cotton Gin and Harbour Club into heritage tourism sites, celebrating our culture while generating new employment opportunities. This isn’t just about preserving the past—it’s about using our history to create a brighter, self-sustaining future.

Upgrading Sion Hill Clininc

Access to quality healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. But too often, residents face long wait times, outdated facilities, and limited resources. We will enhance local clinics with better accessibility, extended hours, and integrated senior care services—ensuring that everyone, from young families to the elderly, gets the care they need. Modernizing healthcare facilities will also create new jobs in medical services and administration. When we invest in health, we invest in a stronger, more resilient East Kingstown.

Building a Sports and Arts Complex

Sports bring people together, teach discipline, and create opportunities—but without proper facilities, our athletes don’t stand a chance. That’s why we’re committed to upgrading playing fields with proper lighting, mentorship programs, and regular sporting events that put our young athletes on the map. These improvements won’t just help our kids stay active—they’ll create jobs for coaches, event organizers, and facility managers. By investing in sports, we’re not only keeping young people engaged and out of trouble, but we’re also positioning East Kingstown as a regional hub for athletic development.

Revitalizing Community Organizations

Strong communities don’t just happen—they are built through active engagement, mentorship, and collaboration. For too long, local groups that once brought people together have faded, leaving gaps in leadership and support. It’s time to change that. We will invest in rebuilding and strengthening community organizations to create safe spaces where people can connect, share ideas, and work toward a better future. These groups will be equipped with the tools and digital resources they need to engage the community, foster mentorship, and drive initiatives that keep our youth involved in positive activities. A strong, united East Kingstown means a stronger future for us all.

Enhancing Cultural and Recreational Spaces

Arts, music, and culture are the heartbeat of any community, yet we’ve let too many of our cultural spaces fall into neglect. We will upgrade the Sion Hill Pan Yard and Hard Court, turning it into a multi-purpose amphitheater and cultural hub where musicians, artists, and performers can showcase their talents. These improvements will create new job opportunities for artists, event planners, and technicians while giving our community a space to celebrate its creativity. Investing in arts and culture isn’t just about entertainment—it’s about identity, pride, and economic opportunity.

Modernizing the Rockies Community Center

Education doesn’t stop at graduation. In today’s world, lifelong learning is key to success, and we need to provide the right spaces for it. We will modernize the Rockies Community Center, transforming it into a hub for adult education, digital literacy, and flexible community programs. Whether it’s learning new technology skills, preparing for a new career, or simply having a safe space for community activities, this center will give residents, young and old the tools they need to grow and succeed. An educated, skilled community is a strong community.

Fostering Community Cooperatives

Too many hardworking people in East Kingstown struggle to make ends meet—not because they lack skill, but because they lack opportunity. Community cooperatives can change that. By working together, residents can pool resources, create businesses, and secure better job opportunities for themselves and their neighbors. We will encourage cooperatives in areas like agriculture, skilled trades, and entrepreneurship, ensuring that people can build wealth and stability without relying on big corporations. When communities invest in each other, everyone wins.

Building a community of Safety, growth and Pride.
